To the fwschools.org Community,

What a difference a week makes.

When we started this journey just a few days ago, it was fueled by a simple idea: that Fort Worth parents are the best stewards of Fort Worth schools. Since then, the response from our community has been nothing short of inspiring.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes building the infrastructure to turn our shared vision into a reality. Here is where we stand after our first seven days:

🛠️ Building the Digital Home

We’ve officially launched our digital headquarters. Our website, logo, and domain are live, and our subscriber management system is up and running. This platform isn't just a blog; it’s the engine that will keep our community informed, connected, and ready to act.

📚 Defining the Strategy

We’ve already published our first two major posts (including our deep dive into SB 1882), but we’re just getting started. We have a backlog of 15 additional articles and guides in development. Our goal is to be the most comprehensive resource for understanding the TEA landscape and how we can protect our local campuses.

🏛️ Forming the "Shield"

fwschools.org is now officially a Texas Non-Profit. We have structured our initial board to ensure we are operating with transparency and legal integrity. This is a critical step because it allows us to act as a formal partner for our schools when the time comes.

🤝 Boots on the Ground

The strategy only works if we have the support of our educators. This week, we held our first key stakeholder meeting with a local principal to discuss how a parent-led Innovation Partnership could support their campus's specific needs. These conversations are the heartbeat of our organization.

How You Can Help Right Now: Join the Leadership

To move from "concept" to "campus," we need leaders. We are currently looking for dedicated parents and community members to fill several key roles.

If you are passionate about the future of our Southwest Fort Worth powerhouse elementaries, consider stepping into one of these positions:

Campus-Specific Leadership (The "Super-PTA" Level)

We are looking for leaders specifically for our target Southwest campuses to serve as:

  • Campus President

  • Campus Vice-President

  • Campus Secretary

These roles are for the "doers"—the parents who want to have a direct hand in how their child’s school is managed and protected.

Two More Simple Ways to Help:

  1. Share the Site: Forward this email to five parents in your neighborhood. Growth is our greatest defense.

  2. Provide Feedback: What are you hearing at the playground? What are you worried about in the board meetings? Reply to this email and let us know what content you need us to tackle next.

We are building something that has never been done quite like this in Fort Worth or Texas. Thank you for being part of the foundation.

Onward,

The fwschools.org Team
